I am a 23-year-old medical student at the University of Toledo; however, I have become enthralled with art in the last two and a half years. The journey began as a reaction to my own obsession of finding my existential meaning after reading The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. I had never felt so much emotion from a novel before and I came to several existential realizations. It occurred to me that art was the meaning of my life and I knew I had to keep pursuing it. After exposing myself to various books, movies, poems, philosophy, plays, music, and more, it dawned on me to compile all my lessons into one form. From May to July 2021, a passion within me burst out to create my novel, The Final Catharsis, which was published on January 12, 2023. Currently, I am working through editing my second novel, Bruised & Bemused. Writing has been one of the most rewarding actions in expressing my emotions through art. This blog is an extension of that passion and I hope others can learn from it as I continue this adventure.
